Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Jurnal Ilmiah dan Riset Akademik is a peer-reviewed scientific journal committed to maintaining high ethical standards throughout all stages of scholarly publication — including the peer-review process, authorship, editorial decisions, and publishing practice.
Duties of Editors
Publication Decisions. Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts will be published based on scientific validity, significance, and relevance to the journal's scope. Editors may consult other editors or reviewers when making decisions.
Fair Play. Editors evaluate manuscripts on their intellectual merit, without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political philosophy.
Confidentiality. Editors and editorial staff must not disclose information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.
Conflict of Interest. Unpublished material from submitted manuscripts must not be used in the editor's own research without the author's written consent.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions. Peer review assists editors in making sound decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts.
Promptness. Reviewers who cannot complete a review in a timely manner must notify the editor promptly.
Confidentiality. All manuscripts received for review are confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with third parties.
Objectivity. Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate. Reviewers must express their views clearly and with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources. Reviewers must identify published work not cited by the authors and alert the editor to any substantial similarity or overlap with other published work.
Conflict of Interest. Reviewers must not evaluate manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards. Authors must present an accurate account of their research and an objective discussion of its significance. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable.
Originality and Plagiarism. Authors must ensure their work is entirely original. Any use of others' work must be properly cited and attributed.
Multiple Submissions. Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. This constitutes unethical publishing behavior.
Acknowledgement of Sources. All influential publications that shaped the reported work must be properly cited.
Authorship. Authorship must be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the research. The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors have approved the final version.
Disclosure of Conflicts. Authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that may have influenced their research or its interpretation.
Errors in Published Work. Authors who discover significant errors in their published work must promptly notify the editor and cooperate to retract or correct the article.
