Focus and Scope

Sosiwara: Jurnal Sosial dan Budaya is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published online by LPPM Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. First published in 2026, the journal is issued quarterly, with four issues published annually. The journal provides a platform for the publication of original research articles, review articles, conceptual papers, and critical studies in the fields of social sciences and cultural studies. Its scope encompasses interdisciplinary studies in social sciences and cultural studies, including community development, governance, media and communication, socio-legal studies, gender and social inclusion, environmental and cultural issues, anthropology, cultural heritage, and other contemporary social and cultural issues.

The journal aims to facilitate the dissemination of high-quality scholarly works that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and interdisciplinary understanding of society and culture. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure originality, academic quality, methodological rigor, and scientific integrity.
